Turning Data into Action: Our Insights from the AI & the Smart Factory Conference

The AI & the Smart Factory Conference, held on March 18, 2026, brought together leading voices from industry, technology, and research to explore a key question: what does a “Smart Factory” truly mean in the Greek reality?

CORE Innovation Group was proud to once again participate as both sponsor and exhibitor, contributing to a dynamic exchange of ideas and practical solutions shaping the future of industrial production.

From Data to Action: A Smarter Approach to Maintenance

During the Conference, Nikos Frangakis, Director of Business Development at CORE Innovation Group, delivered a presentation titled: “Doing the Smart Move: How AI Transforms Condition Monitoring into Preventive and Prescriptive Maintenance.”

His talk focused on how organizations can move beyond traditional monitoring and unlock real operational value through AI. Instead of simply identifying failures, modern systems can now guide teams toward the right actions—turning complex data into clear, practical decisions.

Using COREbeat as a real-world example, he highlighted a step-by-step approach to adopting AI without disruption-starting small, scaling gradually, and delivering measurable results along the way. The presentation also emphasized tangible business impact, from extending equipment lifespan and optimizing spare parts to improving overall efficiency, sustainability and safety.

At the CORE Innovation Group Booth

Conference attendees had the opportunity to explore COREbeat, our end-to-end Predictive Maintenance solution. Visitors to our booth were introduced to beatBox, the hardware component underpinning COREbeat, and experienced our highly intuitive user interface, designed to provide clear, real-time insights into asset performance especially health status.

They also engaged with our team, gaining a deeper understanding of how CORE Innovation Group supports organizations throughout their digital transformation journey, from consulting to tailored industrial solutions.

We also had the opportunity to share insights from our ongoing work at the CORE Innovation Centre, including the StreamSTEP EUproject , focused on optimizing Sustainable Thermal Energy Systems and developing new technologies for process industries, and the ELEXIA EU project, which advances cross-sector digitalised energy systems.

With the participation of leading organizations from across Greek industry, the conference served as a key meeting point for collaboration and knowledge exchange. It reinforced a clear message: the future of production is being shaped by practical implementation rather than hype, laying solid foundations for the next day of Smart Factories in Greece.
