In 2016, two people made the choice to build the company they always wanted to work for.
Stefanos Kokkorikos and Nikos Kyriakoulis launched CORE Innovation in Athens to bring deep technology to Greek industry.
In 2017 we took on our first projects
Theory met practice. Our first EU-funded projects proved that what we were building had real value. Little did we know, these would become the very ground on which we'd build everything that followed.
We wanted to give our research a home of its own: non-profit, focused, and built specifically to run EU-funded projects and push industrial R&D forward.
In 2020 the research became a product.
The expertise we built through our projects, became the foundation for COREbeat: a plug-and-play predictive maintenance platform designed to transform how machines are monitored and maintained.
In 2022 we launched the Greek Smart Factory.
Our experience, and a network of partners across Europe we'd spent years building, made it possible: An ecosystem where manufacturers can test, break, and improve before they commit.
At the same time we became more than 50!
What started with two people quietly passed a milestone. A team of fifty and somehow the energy only got bigger.
In 2023, we moved into a new space. The vision got bigger too.
We moved into a space built entirely around how we work. Open, collaborative, and ready for what's next.
In 2024 Greece got its first SIRI assessors (us!)
Before a factory can transform, it needs to know where it stands. We brought a globally recognised Industry 4.0 readiness framework to Greek industry.
In 2025, we hosted CORE Innovation Days
The first annual conference in Greece dedicated to Industry 4.0. We brought industry, academia, and policy under one roof to address what happens after research, before a product exists.
10 years of deciding what’s next
A decade in, and the best chapters are still being written. More than sixty people, hundreds of partners, and an industry that's only just beginning to transform.
